I. Introduction

Introduction:

Chronicles of Narnia is a game for the GC platform that uses actual scenes
from the film as well as the voices of the actors in the film. It is
extremely realistic and breathtakingly beautiful. It is a game that consists
of puzzles as well as combat, and there are four playable characters. Unlike
some other games in this genre, ALL four of the characters MUST be played
during the course of the game. Some levels involve all four characters, but
others involve only two. In the course of the game, you must use each of the
four children to solve puzzles or defeat enemies. Every child has a different
style of combat, and unique abilities that are unlocked as you advance through
the game. The two boys, Peter and Edmund, are the most similar in their
abilities as well as their styles of combat. The two girls are completely
different from one another.

There are no choices in determining which level to play until you have
completed all levels. Once you have completed a level, however, you can
choose to play it again, to improve your score and the number of Bonus Shields
and coins that you collect. This game has a wonderful co-operative mode. Any
other player can 'join' the game at ANY point and leave the game at any point
by 'dropping out'. To join the game, the 2nd player simply presses 'Start'.
To leave the game, the 2nd player simply chooses the 'Drop Out' option.
Gameplay is not affected by this and continues smoothly. There is no need to
restart a level and the level is saved in the same way whether or not a 2nd
player has been involved at any point in the game.

This game can be quite challenging. The need to 'cycle' between characters
during combat situations can make it rather difficult. With a 2nd player, it
becomes easier. When two players are involved in a level that involves all
four children, one will play Peter and the other will play Susan or Edmund.
Lucy can be played by either player at any point during the level.

When you have completed the last level successfully, you will find that you
have unlocked some bonus levels. They will be found in the bottom drawer of
the wardrobe, with a number of short film clips of interviews with the actors
and actresses who play the Pevensie children. The number of Bonus items that
are unlocked depends solely upon the number of Bonus Shields that you obtained
during the course of the game. You can keep replaying the same levels until
you find all items if you wish to unlock all items in the Bonus Content drawer.

N.B. There are frozen Statues that can be 'liberated' and collected
throughout the game. These statues can be used before playing 'The Great
Battle' level in order to purchase auxiliary attacks for your side. The more
statues you have, the more auxiliary attacks you can buy.

II. Unique Abilities of the Four Children:

Peter is the eldest Pevensie child and the 'head' of the family. He is the
strongest of the four, and is able to break barriers that no one else can. He
begins the game with no weapon apart from his two fists but as the levels
progress, he gains first a walking stick, and finally a sword and shield.

Edmund is younger and lighter in weight than his brother. He begins the game
with no weapon apart from his fists but gains a stick soon which he is able to
ignite. He then will acquire a dagger and finally a sword. One of Edmund's
unique skills is that he can climb lampposts and poles. You will need to use
him in this capacity again and again.

Susan is the eldest of the two girls. She is quick and agile. She has two
essential unique abilities. One is musical in nature. She will acquire a set
of panpipes and by playing them can put enemies to sleep or reveal hidden
statues and Bonus Shields. Her other unique ability is as an archer.
Before she acquires a bow and arrows, she only can throw tennis balls and
snowballs, but once she has the bow and arrow, she can fire arrows at
enemies. Ultimately, she will acquire fire arrows.

Lucy is the smallest of the children, but she is exceedingly strong. She
never acquires any weapons, but she has an extraordinary unique ability: she
can tame enemies! As the levels progress, she will gain the ability to tame
more enemies. When Lucy 'tames' an enemy, she is able to ride upon it, and
cause it to turn against its comrades. This is rather fun, actually, and
quite amusing. Another unique ability is the power to crawl into small
spaces. By doing this, she can open doors for the others as well as discover
hidden treasures. Lucy's most vital unique ability, however, is her ability
to heal. As the game progresses, this ability will become more powerful until
she actually can resuscitate fallen comrades and make it possible for them to
return to combat.

There are a number of levels where the children must cross lakes that have
been covered with ice. Only the two younger children, Lucy and Edmund, can be
used in this situations. One of the two must find a 'safe' path across the
ice in each case.

III. Puzzles in the Game:

Puzzles:

There are a number of puzzles in this game that occur again and again.

'Safe path': In situations where the children must cross a lake covered with
ice, use either Lucy or Edmund to find a 'safe path'. The 'safe' places on
the ice will be outlined faintly in blue. You must find an unbroken path from
one side to another before the four children can cross.

'Hide': In situations where crates obstruct the path and some one is looking
for the children, they will be obliged to find hiding places. One of the
children needs to smash the crates, but do not smash them all at once as you
will not have enough time to hide the children if you do so. After smashing
one or two of the crates, icons will appear over a hiding place for each of
the four children. Take the child to his/her icon and press A to make him/her
hide.

'Crawl spaces': In almost every level that involves Lucy, you will see coins
or Bonus Shields in unreachable places. Look for a small opening at ground
level and use Lucy to enter. She will crawl through to the area that has the
coins or Bonus Shields. In some cases, a crawl space is the only means of
exit from a room apart from a locked gate or door. Again, use Lucy to go
through the crawl space and open the gate or door from the other side for the
rest of the children.

'Projectiles': In many levels, there will be archer dwarves firing arrows or
projectiles at the children. In these cases, use Susan to fire arrows at them
by using L and B.

'Fire': Put out fires by having Susan throw snowballs at them.

'Grates' : Close grates by having Susan throw tennis balls at them.

'Ice': When brambles covered by ice obstruct the path, have Peter use Y to
knock the ice from the brambles and then use B to smash them.

'Musical notes': Whenever Susan is involved in a level, press X to see if any
musical notes appear on the ground. Whenever you see a musical note on the
ground, use Susan to stand on the spot and press A. A sequence of 'notes' in
the form of control buttons will appear. By hitting the buttons in the right
order, Susan will play a melody that either puts an enemy to sleep, uncovers
hidden statues and Bonus Shields or achieves another purpose that is unique to
that level.

'Climbing': Only Edmund has the ability to climb poles or lampposts. In this
situation, you will see an icon of Edmund on the pole or post. Have him climb
by pressing A, then use the joystick to make him inch his way up the post or
pole.

'Taming Enemies': Only Lucy has the ability to tame enemies by riding them.
By hitting them using the B button a specified number of times, she can ride
some species of enemies. She must purchase or earn the ability to ride a
specific enemy before it will be possible for her to do this.

'Team Up': An interesting aspect of this game is the 'Team Up' attack. When
two characters stand next to one another, you often will see two purple
circles on the ground. This indicates the ability to 'Team Up'. By pressing
the Y button, the two children will form a team to perform a unique
manoeuvre. After you 'Team Up', press the B Button to perform the attack
itself. 'Team Up' attacks include:

IV. Team Up Attacks

Peter and Lucy: Lucy leaps onto Peter's back
Peter and Susan: Susan leaps onto Peter's back and throws snowballs or fires
arrows
Peter and Edmund: Peter spins Edmund in a circle, using him as a weapon
Susan and Lucy: Susan slides Lucy, then lets her go as a projectile to smash
ice chunks
Susan and Edmund: Susan spins Edmund in a circle, using him as a weapon
Edmund and Lucy: Edmund slides Lucy, then lets her go as a projectile to
smash ice chunks

GAME LEVELS:

V. Introductory Level: The Blitz

Introductory Level: Air Raid

The game begins during the Blitz. The first level is an introductory one that
teaches the player how to use the controls. Hints are given each time a new
move is introduced to the game.

As a bomb attack begins in the middle of the night, the mother urges the
children to unite so that they can go into the safety of the basement. Edmund
is at the window, contrary to the rules of blackout. The mother calls Peter
and tells her to take Edmund with him as he collects the two girls who are in
their bedrooms upstairs sleeping.

Before you leave the room, however, you ought to collect all coins and search
for bonus items. Peter is the strong one here, so use him to smash items and
doors. By holding down the B button, you generate power and when the ring is
filled, the item will be smashed. The cabinet next to the door holds a Bonus
Item, so smash that. Pummel the sofa, and the armchairs for coins and another
bonus item. Pummel the fireplace for a bonus item and the piano for another.
When an item is hidden in an object, you will see an empty 'Power ring' with a
question mark (?) in the centre. Boost power by speeding up your attack and
when the Power ring is full, the item either will be smashed or will yield its
secret. You should be able to find 5 bonus items and about 50 coins in the
first room alone. When you have exhausted all hiding places, have Peter smash
the door using the B button and move out to the corridor. There you will find
more funiture to pummel. The mother will tell you to hurry, as they must
leave the house and indeed the entire level is time-limited, so try to move
quickly while not missing any chances to pummel furniture along the way.

Go upstairs. Switch players using the R button. If you are playing Peter,
however, Edmund will follow automatically. When you go upstairs, ignore the
first two doors for the time being. You will see an X on both of them, which
means that you have to unlock an ability before you will be able to smash them.

There are two door at the end of the corridor. If you are facing the stairs,
it is the door on the left that you need to smash now. Smash it for another
cutscene when you find Susan. She will take an electric torch from her room
and will follow you. Now Peter needs to smash the door across the corridor
from Susan's room. It will be utterly dark when you enter the room.

Use the R button to cycle to Susan and then use the torch she holds to find a
Bonus item, coins and finally the Lamp.
Pummel all furniture for coins and Bonus items, remembering that you have
limited time to do so. Now you will return to the corridor. Fires from bombs
that have hit the house will have destroyed part of the corridor floor, and
only Edmund or Lucy are light enough to cross now. Have one of them cross the
floor to the grandfather clock and then knock it down using the B button.

This is your first chequepoint. You need to purchase a Special Ability for
Peter now. It is called 'Double Damage' and will allow him to smash the two
doors that you ignored previously.

To purchase the special ability, go to your Inventory, which is accessed from
the 'Pause' menu. By purchasing 'Double Damage', he will be able to smash
through the Double Doors.

Smash the door that you reach first to enter another room. Here you will find
that the entire floor is in flames.

Edmund must climb a bedpost. Use the A button so that he will mount the
bedpost and then use your direction control to allow him to inch his way up
the post. Another little cutscene will show him reaching the other side of
the room. The other children must join him, and then Peter must smash another
door. Make certain not to ignore any opportunities to pummel furniture and
pick up coins.

Go back downstairs where you will find that fires now prevent you from
reaching the mother. Push the furniture in the corridor over the two fires to
put them out. You must push the item on the right first before you can push
the one on the left.

When you reach the mother, there will be another little scene and she will
tell you to find the key to the room. Again, Susan must use her torch to find
coins and the key. Try to find as many coins as possible before you find the
key, as once you do, gameplay for this level will end.

At the end of this level, the four children will be sent to the country for
safety. They will go by train to a huge house in the countryside where they
are met by the housekeeper.

The next cutscene shows them in a sitting room in the house. To amuse
themselves, they will play a game of hide-and-seek.
Now you will have the opportunity to save your game.

Game saves and Levels are in the form of a gorgeous old hand-carved armoire or
wardrobe which in fact is the magical Wardrobe through which is the entrance
to Narnia. As you complete levels, other levels will be unlocked, and every
level is represented by a small carved inset in the armoire. Higher levels
literally are higher on the wardrobe.

Use the A button to enter another level. At this point, you have only two
choices: you can replay the introductory level or you can play the first real
Narnia level: Glimpse of Narnia.

Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe Empty Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Post by Elwa 28th April 2009, 22:30

VI. Glimpse of Narnia

Glimpse of Narnia:

In this level, the only playable characters are Lucy and Edmund who meet after
they have had their own separate introductions to the land of Narnia. Lucy
has been with Mr. Tumnus and Edmund has been with the White Witch, where he
made a greedy pig of himself eating Turkish Delight.

Edmund is the only character with a tool/weapon in the form of a stick. It
can be lit at any fire. Edmund can climb poles and trees as well.

This level has 'Team Up' icons that must be collected in order to unlock a new
ability: the ability to join characters together to create a single team.
Until you have collected all Team-Up icons (they look like the icon for
infinity but are pink, a figure 8 on its side), you will not be able to smash
the ice boulders that prevent access to the path that leads to the rest of the
Lantern Wastes area.

Use Edmund and the B button to have him smash brambles and other obstacles
with his stick. Use the X button to clear the ice from brambles, and then
smash them using the B button.

Lucy's job in this little clearing is to stand on a snowball to reach items
that are hanging in mid-air.

When he has lit his stick at the fire, Edmund can ignite brambles to clear
them from the path or to access items.

When you have unlocked 'Team Up' abilities, you will be able to unite Edmund
and Lucy to smash the large ice boulders that obstruct the path.

Stand the children next to one another and press the Y button when you see
purple rings on the ground. The children then will operate as a single
force. If they are a team and you press the B button, they will perform
a 'Team Up' attack. In this case, this consists of Edmund swinging Lucy
forward on the ice as a sort of battering device!

Use the 'Team Up' attack to send Lucy hurtling into the ice chunks to smash
them. You will find yourself in another clearing. Lucy will be required to
use the snowball again to access a Bonus item.

Now you will be attacked by wolves. You either can use the 'Team Up' attack
or Edmund can use his stick to vanquish a wolf. Using Edmund alone really is
faster. The problem with the 'Team Up' attack is that it leaves Lucy
unprotected in front of Edmund and makes her the playable character
automatically afterwards, so always use the R button after a 'Team Up' attack
in this level to make Edmund your playable character again.

You can 'Team Up' to go through the tunnel, making certain to collect all the
coins along the way. When you reach the next clearing, there will be a post
for Edmund to climb.

You will have to 'Team Up' again to wade through the heavy snow, and then you
will have to battle against more wolves. Set the brambles on fire with
Edmund's lit stick to prevent more wolves from entering the clearing.
Meanwhile, make certain that you collect all the red heart icons. It will
unlock a new ability at the end of the level.

Keep moving forward and you will experience a cutscene wherein you return to
the country house. The level is complete and you now have the opportunity to
save and to purchase another ability: Brave Heart.

Brave Heart is for all the children and costs only 50 coins. Purchase it.

There are five bonus points to be found in this level.

When the level is complete and you have saved it, you will return to the
Wardrobe, where you will find a long drawer at the very bottom. This is
the 'Bonus Content' drawer. You will have unlocked some recording sessions by
the actors who play the children.

The next level is: The Spare Room

You will be able to see all the levels by highlighting their locations on the
wardrobe now, but the only one that has been unlocked is 'The Spare Room'.
Use the A button to enter the next level.

VII. The Spare Room

The Spare Room:

This level takes place in the country house. Your mission is to find Lucy
before Mrs. McCreadie does. As you journey through the house, you will find
that doors will shut once you are able to go through them, so try to find all
coins and Bonus Point icons BEFORE going into another room.

First, when you exit the wardrobe room, go all the way across the main
staircase, making certain not to disturb the professor, so do not descend.
There is a little room on the other side with coins and a Bonus Point. Get
those, then return to the wardrobe room. This time, when you leave, go to the
right into the bedroom. Here you will find a bed and two long tables. Use
the B button to move each table back and forth so that you can access coins
that are placed beneath it. Keep sliding the furniture back and forth until
the coins stop appearing. You will hear the sound of a final coin dropping
into a bag when the shower of coins ends.

When you move the second table, Lucy, who has been hiding beneath it, will run
out of the room and find a hidden door behind a green curtain.

This is a Chequepoint.

After Lucy tells you to leave her alone and you smash the crates that obstruct
the pathway, the game will become
time-limited as Mrs. McCreadie is coming. You must find a hiding place for
Susan and Peter before Mrs. McCreadie arrives.

You have to play as Peter here first, and smash a crate or two but watch the
time and as it begins to run down, press A twice to make Peter and Susan hide
in the chest and under the table in front of the crates that you were
smashing. Keep smashing the crates and hiding whenever you begin to run out
of tme until finally you have smashed your way through and McCreadie is gone.
Run to the end of the corridor to the room where Lucy disappeared, but stop
first at the little alcove on the left to pummel the suit of armour. You will
gain coins and a Bonus Point. It is a Chequepoint as well.

The room at the end of the corridor is a bedroom. Here, pummel furniture to
obtain the usual coins. You will see a shining golden icon in front of a
bureau representing tennis balls. When you have obtained all coins, hit a
lamp to open a secret passageway. As soon as you do, however, Lucy will
appear and black ravens will follow her. Now you have to play as Susan and
press L and holding down the L button, press B repeatedly facing the window.
You will throw tennis balls towards the window to shatter it so that the birds
will disappear through the hole. If you run out of balls, go to the bureau to
obtain more. After the birds disappear, take Susan back to the bureau to
regain the tennis balls she has thrown. The maximum is 50. Make certain that
you have the full amount. You will need them later.

Go up the stairs and carry on down the corridor. There is a secret alcove
where you will find a Bonus Point along the way.

This is a chequepoint.
Go through the door that opens and up the stairs through the corridor then
down the spiral staircase.
Now bats will appear. You must play as Susan again, using tennis balls to
shut the grates from which the bats appear.
After this, go through the archway into the main hall. The professor is no
longer on the stairway so you can pick up the coins that you saw at the
beginning. Pummel the suit of armour in the centre of the staircase for a
Bonus Point and pummel all furniture.

Use Peter to move the table back and forth for coins and a Bonus Point, then
have him pummel the lamp. You will see the B Button icon with a gauge. When
the gauge is full, a small opening will appear.

Make Lucy crawl through the small opening and she will open a door next to
it. Go through it with all characters and you will find yourself in a dining
hall.

As you pummel furniture for coins, bats will appear again. Use Susan to throw
tennis balls at the two grates high on the walls to stop more bats from
entering and to gain two Bonus Points. When you have found all coins and
Bonus Items, go through to the next room which is a sitting room. Pummel
furniture as usual.

There is another table in this room that can be moved back and forth. By
doing so, you not only will get coins but Peter will find a new weapon! This
is a cane or walking stick that makes a fine weapon.

Go through to the next room which is a sitting room. Peter can whack the
furniture now with his cane and you will find a Bonus Point in the chest.

You will see a B icon with a gauge beneath a window. When you have exhausted
all furniture opportunities, have Peter whack it until another small opening
appears.

Send Lucy through the opening. She in turn will open the locked door for the
other two characters.

This is another Chequepoint.

Now you will find yourself outside the country house. Large crates like those
that obstructed the path before will obstruct your path again. Again, you
will smash one or two and then hide before Mrs. MaCreadie appears. There are
three characters to hide now. Each hiding place will have an icon of the
person above it. Press A when the person is there to make him or her hide.
It is almost automatic as long as the character is in the right spot.

Again and again, you have to keep smashing crates and returning to the
sitting room to hide until all the crates are smashed.
Make Peter smash the crates. It is easier now that he has a cane. Take your
time and do it properly so that you will not be caught by the housekeeper.

Once you get through the obstacles, you will see Edmund down below sitting on
the stairs. You will experience a cutscene whereby he will climb up to join
you. Pick up coins and then let Edmund climb the tall lamppost. Edmund
reappears, opening a barred gate that leads to a stariway.

This is another Chequepoint.
Another chequepoint now. Macready is returning. This time you have to smash
all the crates and run all the way back to the room where you began, the room
with the wardrobe.

There are 16 Bonus Shields in this level

The next level that you can play is: Lantern Waste.

Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe Empty Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Post by Elwa 28th April 2009, 22:30

VIII. Lantern Waste

Lantern Waste

You begin the level in a clearing in Narnia. Peter can find a stick by
smashing a barrel. Have Peter destroy the ice on the bramble obstacle using
Y, then use B attack to smash the brambles completely. Once he has destroyed
both bramble barriers, have Lucy climb on the snowball to go down the hill to
the second clearing. Here she will be able to reach the coins that are
hanging in mid-air, and then use Lucy again to crawl into the two caves. She
will find a secret passage in both cases to reach the coins that are on the
stone platforms above the caves.

Now have Edmund light his stick by climbing the lamppost. After this, have
Susan and Lucy perform a 'Team Up' attack to smash the three large ice chunks
in the path.

Go through the tunnel, collecting all coins along the way. On the other side
of the tunnel, you will see a tall tooth-like monolith. You first must light
the small bushes at the foot of the structure, which will set a ring of fire
alight in the air. Now use a 'Team-Up' attack with Edmund and Peter to topple
the structure. This will bring 20 wolves to attack you. When you have
defeated all 20, you will reach a Chequepoint.

Chequepoint.

The ice cracks, sending you down the mountain on bits of ice that are like
snowboards. You now have to snowboard down a long gully, avoiding huge pits,
trying to obtain as many coins as possible (as well as a Bonus Item) along the
way. When you reach the end, there will be another chequepoint.

Now you have to make your way across a lake using either Lucy or Edmund who
are the only characters light enough to cross the ice. The way to do this is
to find the path that is traced in faint blue on the surface of the ice. Pick
up all coins as you do this. It is not difficult, but take your time. Areas
that are unsafe will fall into the water, leaving a narrow safe path.

When you create an entire safe path, you will experience another cutscene and
Chequepoint.

Make Lucy go to the green plus sign in the snow to unlock the First Aid
ability:

When Lucy presses X, she can heal others.

Try not to press X by accident when playing Lucy as she has a limited amount
of healing power.

Use Lucy to crawl into the low cave beneath the ice path to your right. She
can use B to obtain the first statue, as well as picking up all coins on the
path. Have her knock the straw bale into the water and return to join the
others.

Use Edmund to cross the water on the straw bale, and then press B to fell the
tall tree on the other side. The tree will crash down, forming a bridge.
Every one will cross in a cutscene.

Peter must break another bramble barrier. After he does so, you will reach
another Chequepoint.

Now you will see a fort of ice ahead. Peter must smash the ice from the
fort's surface in three parts: left, centre and right. Dwarves appear and
light two beacons of fire. You must use Susan to throw snowballs at the two
fires to put them out while fighting the wolves that will attack the party.

When Susan breaks through the barrier, you go through the structure to the
other side. This is where you will find more statues after killing three
dwarf archers. Collect all statues, going up on the platform to collect a
number of them, as well as using Edmund to climb the pole for the coin. There
are some barrels on the right. One of them contains explosives. It glows
green, so you will know which one to avoid. Clearing the other barrels is
important, however, as it will reveal a cave that Lucy can enter, to find a
passage through to a platform filled with coins.

Now Edmund must cross another body of water, while dwarves fire arrows at
him. He must find a safe path as before and when he has found it, every one
will cross to the other side.

Chequepoint.

Now you must run down a long corridor where dwarves fire arrows at you and you
must avoid smashing more barrels filled with explosives. At the other end,
you will be attacked by wolves again. When all wolves are dead, you will
experience a scene wherein you enter Mr. Tumnus' house to find that he has
been accused of high treason.

There are 10 Statues and 21 Bonus Shields in this level

Upgrades that can be purchased:

Wolfbane XA
Lion's Leap BXA

for Edmund and Peter

Lucy has First Aid

The next level is the Western Wood

IX. Western Wood

Western Wood

Collect the Statue immediately after meeting Mr. Beaver. Smash the barrels,
except for the one that glows green. There are coins and a Stick in one.

Susan can throw snowballs to put out the fire, by using L and the B button.

You have found Mr. Tumnus' Panpies! When Controlling Susan, press X to reveal
any magical notes that are nearby. Susan can then stand on one of these
magical notes and press A to start the panpipes sequence.

Use Susan to throw snowsballs at the fire until it is completely quenched.

Smash the two statues, have Lucy collect the first aid and Edmund to collect
the other stick. There is Health in another barrel, and more coins. Another
statue is collected after the second barrier, and then two more.

After the third barrier, you get a cutscene. 'The path is blocked', says Mr.
Beaver. 'Keep watch as I chew through the wood.'

Chequepoint

In this clearing, there is more health, but then wolves attack. At the top of
the screen, you will see a gauge for Mr. Beaver and his progress. You need to
light fires with one of your sticks to stop more wolves from coming. Keep
killing the wolves that attack and make certain that none of them reach Mr.
Beaver as he continues his job of chewing through the barrier. When you get
through the barrier, you will see another scene.

Chequepoint

Now you have more wolves attacking. Get more health from a barrel. Go down
to the river, and use a Team Up attack with Edmund and Lucy to smash the large
ice chunks. You may have to do this more than once. When they are smashed
completely, a water wheel will start to move, sending down a wooden bridge for
you to cross. Before you cross the bridge, however, send Lucy down the path
on the right side of the bridge to gain coins and a Bonus Shield.

Cross the bridge for another Chequepoint.

Chequepoint.

Now dwarves are using arrows against you. Collect the statues. Have Peter
put Lucy on his back to wade through the heavy snow. You then get another
scene.
An ogre is in the path now.

First have Susan shoot the dwarves with her bow and arrow, or you will be
inundated by arrows in the next section.

Now Mr. Beaver tells Susan to use the panpipes to put the ogre to sleep. You
cannot get too close to him, or you will be in
danger.

YABXA are the magic notes. You have to step on the glowing musical note to
find them, and then play them while standing on the area that glows.

Send Lucy across the ice once the ogre falls asleep.

Now you will get a scene and another Chequepoint.

A boulder falls form the peak of a mountain and more wolves appear.

The wolves are coming out of the caves. You need to find a way to block
them.

Use Wolfbane in the form of XA to fight the wolves as either Edmund or Peter.

Use a Team Up attack with Peter and Edmund to smash the pillar with the
gauge.

Susan must use her bow and arrow on the cave with her icon to bring down
rubble to block it.
Lucy must climb on the saddle-shaped boulder and then hit the rocks and wood
to bring it down over the cave entrance with her icon.

In front of the other cave, light the brambles to block the wolves from coming.

This begins a time-limited challenge. The ogre is coming and you must hide.
There are small chunky boulders in the clearing and an icon of each character
over each of them. Send the appropriate person to his boulder to hide behind
it.

Now there is a cutscene of the ogre appearing. Failing to find the children,
the ogre smashes the obstacles in the path and goes through.

Now the path is clear for you. When you go forward through the path, you will
be at a Chequepoint.

Smash barrels and collect coins as you go through the forest. Small naked
creatures like evil sprites are climbing up the trees and falling from them to
attack you. Kill them as quickly as possible.

Now there is another time limit challenge, as the ogre is coming again.
When you have killed all the little evil sprites, icons will appear once more
to hide each child.

The ogre picks up a huge club and smashes his way out of the forest in another
scene. The children follow.

Level Complete.

There are 15 statues and 29 Bonus Items in this level.

Now you can purchase the following upgrades:

Susan
Got the Panpipes by playing the level

The next Level is Beaver Dam

X. Beaver Dam

Beaver Dam

The ogre takes Mr. Beaver in one hand in the first scene. You must defeat
him.

First have Edmund collect the knife from the edge of the clearing. Begin to
stab the Ogre and an icon for Lucy will appear on the ogre.

Lucy must climb on the Ogre's back using the B button three times. Now she
blindfolds him with her hands while Edmund uses the knife to attack him.

You should experience a scene wherein the ogre picks up Lucy in one hand. She
urges the other children to hide but this is not the course of action to
follow.

Now you will return to the battle with the ogre. You must fend off many
ghouls and sprites as you do so. Edmund must keep hitting the Ogre with his
knife and the ogre grabs him. Now you will see an icon for Peter on the
ogre. Use Peter to attack the ogre using the B button and the ogre grabs him
as well. Now Susan is the only one who is free and she must hit the ogre as
much as possible until he drops all of the children. This is a chequepoint.

Chequepoint.

A new ability is unlocked.

Keep hitting the ogre until you see an icon of Lucy again. Use Lucy to climb
on his back. You will experience a scene wherein a dwarf hits Lucy with his
arrow and she falls off the ogre's back. (This is a hint!)

Keep attacking and you will see another icon for Lucy to climb his back.
Again a dwarf knocks her off the back with an arrow.

This will keep happening until Susan uses her bow and arrow to kill the two
dwarves firing at the children.

Now have Lucy climb the ogres's back again. Hit him and keep killing all
other enemies. He will grab Lucy, then Edmund, and finally Peter. You have
to play as Susan again to hit him repeatedly until he drops every one and you
get a second Chequepoint.

Again you will have to go through the entire process: Susan must kill two
dwarves with her arrows, Lucy must climb back up the Ogre's back, every one
needs to hit the Ogre until he grabs Lucy, Edmund and Peter and finally, Susan
must finish the Ogre off.

XI. The Tunnel

The Tunnel

Only Peter, Susan and Lucy are in this level. Edmund is with the White
Witch.

You basically have a time limit on everything. Mr. Beaver is chewing through
wood again, as in a former level, but this time, you have to dash about from
one section of the area to another. Susan must shoot arrows from a mountain
plateau at boggles who are trying to push over a boulder, then dash down to
the wolves who are trying to smash their way through a barrier and shoot
arrows at them. Meanwhile, Peter has to rescue Mr. Beaver each time he is
kidnapped. These things occur in sequence unless you can beat all enemies
quickly.

Basically, go to the Mountain to have Susan shoot at the Boggles to fell them,
then dash down to the place where the Wolves are breaking through (go to the
left, then south, then right), then dash up to Mr. Beaver to keep the goblin
away from him (far north and a bit east). To get to the Mountain from the
centre, go East, to the place with barrels, then out the door.
So it is Northeast for Mr. Beaver, East for Mountain and Southeast (but going
far west first) for the wolves.

When you have a free moment, have Susan use the X button to find musical notes
on the floor. By standing on the note, you will see the melody she needs to
play. Play the notes by pushing the buttons in the right sequence, and you
will uncover Bonus Shields and Statues.

When Mr. Beaver has completely chewed away the wood, the level will be
complete.

Completing the Tunnel will unlock the following Abilities:

Valiant Heart 50
Valiant Heart increases the total health of the Pevensie Children

Ghoul Bane
Ghoul Bane allows Ghouls to be defeated with one hit. A Weapon is required to
use this Ability. Use B

Lucy
Rain of Fire is a destructive Arrow Attack. Susan and Lucy must Team up to
use this ability. Use X

After you have purchased all upgrades, these are the abilities that the
children should have now:

Lucy
Brave Heart (All Children)
First Aid Use X
Wolf Tame Use B
Valiant Heart (All Children)
Rain of Fire Use X
Ghoul Tame Use B

Edmund

Next Level is in the centre of the Wardrobe: Frozen Lake

XII. Frozen Lake

Frozen Lake

Only Peter, Susan and Lucy are in this level as Edmund remains with the White
Witch.

You experience a scene at the beginning of the level wherein Mr. Beaver points
out the final destination: near the Stone Table, just across the river.

Use Susan to play her Panpipes (using X and A) to find hidden statues, then
collect them. You then must go down to the ice and break through the barrier
with the gauge so that Lucy can crawl through a hidden passage to collect a
Bonus Shield and another Statue.

On the ice area, Susan can use her Panpipes to reveal one more statue. Now
use either Peter or Susan to fill the gauge at the fallen tree trunk. Three
dwarves will appear and Susan must shoot them down with her bow. Then you
will see the gauge again and this time, when it is filled, you will get a
Chequepoint and a scene.

Now orcs appear and climb a tree to fell it, creating a bridge.

Now you have a dwarf shooting from the north. Have Susan shoot it with an
arrow. Now use Susan to play her pipes to uncover Bonus Shields and statues.
(Press X, find the green glow on the ice, step on that and press A to uncover
the melody that must be played to reveal the Bonus Shields. Then do the same
thing with the blue glow to find a Statue.)

Ghouls will be leaping down from the Northeast, so you have to kill them. An
Eagle will fly overhead periodically dropping boulders on the ice to try to
kill you. Use Lucy and Susan in a Team Up attack to shatter the three ice
chunks in front of the fallen tree. A gauge then will appear. Use either
Susan or Peter to fill the gauge and you will get a Chequepoint.

Chequepoint.

There will be a scene of huge trolls who take boulders and throw them.
Now you simply kill off the ghouls that appear and when you see the gauge,
fill it to get through the fallen log and reach another Chequepoint.

In this scene, you run through the ice shattering the surface of the lake.
When you begin, you are in a small floating disk of ice in the centre of a
lake. There is a question mark in the centre of the top of the screen.

This is a puzzle situation. When the small floating piece of ice is next to
the ice floe on which you stand, have Lucy step on it and go to the next large
piece of ice. Now you must find a 'safe path'. Safe areas will be a faint
blue after you step on them. Create one continuous safe path and all the
children will follow safely across to the next section.

At the end of this level, you will experience a meeting with Father Christmas
himself. He gives a special gift to each of the children.

Gifts from Father Christmas:

For Lucy: Fire Flower Cordial, which has powerful Healing Properties.
For Susan: a Gift Bow, which never runs out of arrows, and an Ivory Horn to
Summon Help.
For Peter: a Powerful Gift Sword and Shield

XIII. The Great River

The Great River
Ice is melting and wolves are coming. Need to cross now.

Here, every one has a separate task. First Lucy needs to pummel the rock that
has the gauge until it is filled and the ice cracks. Then Susan needs to use
her arrows to shoot at her icon until the gauge is filled. There are three
different gauges for her in different spots and each needs to be filled.
Finally, Peter has to smash a tree root. When this is completed, and there is
a time limit running, you will gain a Chequepoint.

Now the ice breaks completely and you have to snowboard again on an ice floe
in the river. This time, creatures are toppling ice chunks into the river as
you speed by, and you must avoid them. There are three chequepoints in the
course of the river so if you fail after a Chequepoint, at least you need not
return to the very start of it.

When you reach a pillar, there will be another chequepoint.

Now you are in an area where Spring has flourished in the midst of Winter. It
is Aslan's camp and you will see knights and tents and all the paraphernalia
of royalty in battle readiness. You meet Aslan for the first time and he
tells Peter that he will sit on the throne one day.

Susan screams and you must go to her rescue as she and Lucy are in a tree
being threatened by wolves.

The end of this level takes place in a clearing. There is a super wolf with
his henchwolves. His name is Maugrim and he is Captain of the Secret Police
of the White Witch. You must kill all the henchwolves and Susan needs to use
her bow to kill off the Maugrim slowly. From time to time, she and Lucy climb
a tree and then Maugrim drags them down. Peter must hit him as often as
possible when this occurs. There are three Cheqeupoints in the course of
this wolf battle.

When you have killed Maugrim, you will see a scene wherein Aslan knights
Peter, making him a Knight of Narnia.

New abilities:

Lucy:
Dryad's Cloak 100: Dryad's Cloak allows Lucy to cast a Protective Shield
around Peter. Peter and Lucy must team up to use this Ability.

Fire Fill 50: Fire Fill increases the refill speed of the Fire Flower Cordial.

After you have purchased all upgrades, you should have:

The next Level is: Rescue Edmund

XIV: Rescue Edmund

Rescue Edmund

Only Peter and Edmund are in this level.

The first part of this is dealing with a tremendously strong dwarf named
Ginarrbrik. You have to tie him up by pushing him to the tree. Only when he
is tied up can you diminish his life. He will break free and then climb up
into the tree to hurl knives at you. Press L repeatedly to block the knives.
When he jumps down from the tree again, push him to the tree, tie him and hit
him. This sequence will be repeated about three times. There is no Health
to be gained here apart from the two places in the room where Health is found
on occasion. (It does return but after a long while.)

Now hit the tree trunk with B to fill the gauge until the tree breaks which
gives you room to manoeuvre.
After he is defeated, two Cyclops arrive on the scene with minotaurs and tiny
little goblins. The two Cyclops are the only enemies that matter at this
point. Edmund is the main character here. Have him light the barrels with
his lit stick and push them in the direction of a Cyclops. If it hits
properly, it will diminish his life by half. You must keep doing this until
both Cyclops are dead. Unlike the encounter with the super dwarf, you will be
able to kill lesser enemies to gain life.

Now you have to kill 10 minotaurs on a hill, while the armies of evil file
past below with lit torches. This is simply a matter of killing that number
of enemies. When you have done so, you will get a Chequepoint.

Now there is a scene wherein Edmund and Peter climb a tree.
Now you have to kick and slash to keep the Minotaurs from getting to you high
in the tree. This is time-based. You have to be able to hold them off for 44
seconds.

When the Minotaurs come up on the left, use B to kick them and when they come
on the right, use X to hit them with your sword/stick.

If you are playing as a single player, cycle between Peter and Edmund when the
two are in the tree.

After this, you complete the Level with a scene that shows Jadis with her
dwarf and Minotaur, telling the dwarf that although he failed, she will not
kill him yet, and saying they have work to do.

In this level, there are 4 statues and 10 shields.
By completing this level, you will unlock:

Lion's Roar 150 Lion's Roar is a devastating long-range attack. A weapon is
required to use this ability.
Blade Spinner 100 Blade Spinner is a deadly close-range attack. Peter and
Edmund must team up to use this ability.
Minoboar Bane allows Minoboars to be defeated with one hit. A weapon is
required to use this ability.

Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe Empty Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Post by Elwa 28th April 2009, 22:32

The next level is 'Follow Aslan'.

XV. Follow Aslan

The next Level on the far Left at the top of the Wardrobe is:
Follow Aslan

It begins with a scene wherein Jadis confronting Aslan to accuse Edmund of
being a traitor and declaring that he will die on the Stone Table.

In the actual level, Susan and Lucy sneak out of the camp at night, trying to
avoid sentries and when encountering them, putting them to sleep.

At the very start, you can search for coins and Bonus Points by pummelling
objects. You must break some barrels near the tent to find the musical note
spot for Susan. There are three barrels in the west that must be broken, but
Susan should use her arrows as they contain explosives as well as a Bonus
Shield. Use a Team Up attack to smash the cannon that is in the path, and
then Susan immediately must stand on the glowing spot to play YYXX to put the
centaur sentry to sleep.

The first part of this level involves Susan with the panpipes and her arrows.
A Team Up attack is needed each time a cannon is in the path. What she does
is to fill the gauge by shooting arrows into the sentries' tent and when this
is complete, the two girls must run as quickly as possible past the area to
the other side. Susan must fill another gauge above another tent by shooting
her arrows and the girls run to the other side of the tent, but do not cross
the road. She then does a Team Up attack with Lucy, pressing X, runs over to
the place where there is a blue note, and then plays the melody.

For the first sentry, the notes are:
YYXX

Then:
XXYY

At the bottom of the hill with the two sentries it is XYXY

After the sentries fall asleep, you will be able to leave the camp. Now you
are attacked by dwarves and ghouls. There is a huge Cyclops in the middle of
your path. You cannot pass him. Lucy needs to go into the secret opening in
the hill. You will see a coin hanging in mid-air where she will come out.
There is a large boulder here and she must fill the gauge to knock the boulder
into the abyss to create a path on the hill. Now Susan can join her. Now
they go across the rock bridge to the end. Susan presses X to find the blue
glow on the ground, and standing on it, presses A. The magic notes appear, and
she plays them to put the Cyclops to sleep.

For the Cyclops, the notes are: YXYX

Throughout this part of the level, make certain to search for coins and bonus
shields in every available spot.

The next part of the level involves wolves and orcs. You have Fire Arrows and
Susan must get the arrows by pressing A, then shoot them at the brambles. She
has to keep returning to the fire after she ignites each bramble obstacle.
There are wolves with a magical song. Kill them before they can 'sing'. Lucy
can use Ghoul Tame to advantage here. Use her Tame Ghoul to kill wolves and
other ghouls. When you get to the clearing at the end of the path, Susan must
use her Panpipes and go on the green spot which creates an icon on the tree.
She presses A to climb the tree. An icon appears then for Lucy who must climb
up after her sister.

You get a scene now showing Jadis who is reigning supreme. Aslan is captive
and is bound. Jadis declares that Narnia will be theirs and she kills Aslan
with a spear.

End of Level.

In this level, there are 5 Statues and 12 Bonus Shields.

New abilities:

Lucy:
Minotaur Tame 150 Minoboar Tame allows Lucy to control Minoboars. Luicy
needs to hit a Minoboar 7 times to ride it.
Double Drop: 100 Double Drop increases the amount of health that the fire
flower cordial will restore.

At this point, you ought to have the following:

The next level is Battle of Beruna

Battle of Beruna

In a scene, a griffin announces the enemy's approach. The White Witch is on
the field of battle in a chariot. She declares: 'I have no intersst in
prisoners. Kill them all.'

The first part of Battle of Beruna is to kill 10 Boggles (white with big ears
and spears), and then try to stand on the X in the blue circle and press A to
call for help. The centaurs will fire arrows. Then kill 15 of the little
orcs and when you call for help by standing on the glowing blue X, you get
Eagles dropping stones on the giants. Then kill 7 white wolves, and when you
step on the X this time, you will get a Chequepoint.

Then there is a series of three types of enemies that have to be killed.
Giants come up the hill and it is in order to stop them that you have to kill
the precise number of enemies that appear in the icon at the top of the screen.

The first target is the Minoboar. You have to kill 5.
The second target is 3 Ogres.
The third target is 2 Minotaurs.

You do have to perform these killings quickly. There is no clock or timer to
be seen on the screen but if you are too slow, the centaurs will be killed.

After you have killed the 2nd Minotaur, Captain Otmin, a super Minotaur will
appear and you have to fell him. The Centaur will finish him off.

Level Complete and you will see a scene with Lucy and Susan wherein Aslan
lying dead on the Stone Table. They have been keeping watch over him. There
is an earthquake. The Stone Table is shattered and Aslan is resurrected.

There are four statues and six Bonus Shields.

This level unlocks the following:

be armed with a shield to use this ability.
Ogre Bane 200 : Ogre Bane allows Orgres to bedefeated with one hit. A weapon

XVII. Witch's Castle

In the first room, you must liberate as many statues as possible. Susan must
play her panpipe by pressing X, then A, then XXYYA to activate the yellow
note.

The centaur will awaken, will kick open the door and tell the Daughters of Eve
that the way is open.

Chequepoint.

In the second room, there will be black wraiths along the walls. Susan must
shoot them with her bow and arrow, and wolves will flock through afterwards.
There will be a frozen statue to 'liberate' where each black wraith stood.
Then she must stand on the note and play the flute: XXYYA.

Chequepoint.

In the third room, Lucy must go through a hidden opening on either side of the
room, and pummel a pillar with her shoulder using the B button. After she
does the second one, Susan must hit the pillar with arrows and everything
collapses.

Kill the wolves and collect all statues then have Susan stand on the yellow
note and play XXYYA to awaken a chap with horns who will open the door for you.

Now Boggles appear and you have to fight them. Use Team UP to open a passage
way by shattering three chunks of ice. Have Lucy use Boggle Tame to defeat
all the Boggles and then run, following the trail of coins.

You will reach an archway but the way forward will collapse. You will fall
into a chamber, where Lucy must use her arrows to defeat more of the black
smoke creatures.

Use the fire arrows to get all statues, and then use a Team Up attack to smash
the gate. A huge ogre will come through. You have to pummel the gate until
the gauge is filled, when it will open. Susan must push the fire brazier that
is on top of the magical note place, and then she must press A button and do
XXYYA to call Aslan. He will come through and the gate will fall on the ogre
and kill him.

Lucy now sees Mr. Tumnus who is a statue. Aslan will breathe upon him and
bring him back to life.
Level Complete.

Sun Speed 100 Sun Speed increases the refill speed of the Fire Flower Cordial.

XVIII. The Great Battle

The Great Battle

Before this level begins, you can purchase the following:
When the level loads, you will see a prompt:

The following screen allows you to use the Statues that have been collected
through the game to buy reinforcements. These reinforcements can then be
called upon during the Great Battle...

Phoenix Strike x0 20
Arrow Barrage x0 2
Centaur Charge x0 15
Eagle Strike x0 5

Press A to recruit any of the above.

You need to do the maths if you are interested in using every statue as you do
not wish to end up with a number of unused statues that cannot be applied to
any recruitment. Although these reinforcement attacks really are unnecessary
as you can complete the level without them, they are rather spectacular and
worth viewing.

This level is straight combat, for the most part. The enemy comes in Waves
and you have to defeat Wave upon Wave. You will see icons of the enemy type
you need to kill with the number next to it, but really, it is best to kill
everything in sight. There does not appear to be a time limit or anything
complex. If you have been wise, you will have purchased all upgrades.
Particularly useful here are Lion's Roar and Lion's Bane for Edmund and
Peter. You will have to play Susan once to kill some dwarves who are archers
on the mountain and this will bring you to a Chequepoint.

Other than that, your best bet is to play as Edmund or Peter, using Lion's
Roar by pressing BBA.

All the statues you have collected now can be used to purchase extra combat
forces to use in emergencies. I did not find that I needed to use any of
them, but they are rather fun to watch.

One of the waves will require the killing of 4 Dwarves, so you will have to
play Susan again to shoot them as they are on a mountain. This area is near
an X that looses the Arrow Barrage special attack, so if you want to use it to
kill all the enemies that threaten her as she shoots, it would not be a bad
idea.

After the next Wave, you will reach another Chequepoint.

Level Complete

You can purchase:

Triple Tipple 100 Triple Tipple increases the amount of health that the fire
flower cordial will restore.
Shield Shower 200 Shield Shower allows Lucy to cast a protective shield
around each of the children, Edmund and Lucy must team up to use this ability.

Shield Shower 200 Use X
Sun Fire increases the refill speed of th fire flower cordial. 100

If you have purchased all upgrades, you now should have the following:

XIX. The White Witch

You start the level by having to hit the White Witch 5 times. You will see
an icon with arrows over her head, so play Susan to shoot arrows, and then
Edmund must hit her when his icon appears. Edmund falls and you get a
Chequepoint.

Now there is a sequence to follow: Use Susan to fire arrows at the White
Witch when the arrow gauge shows above her head. When you see a fire icon
over her head, you must roll a barrel through the fire at her and hit her
with it. At this point, use Peter to hit her 5 times at least. She will
leap back to safety and you have to repeat the entire process three times in
all.
After the last sequence when Peter hits her 5 times, Susan must stand on green
musical note and hit A, then play XXYYBBA. THe White WItch stabs Peter in the
hand and then Aslan will come and defeat the White Witch.

The ending is a scene wherein the four children are crowned as royalty of
Narnia. The credits roll.

XX. Bonus Levels

When you have completed the last level, go to the Bottom drawer of the
Wardrobe and you will find some Films and a number of bonus levels that you
can play. The number of Bonus levels and films depends upon the number of
Bonus Shields that you found during the course of the game. After finishing
the game and saving it, you can replay levels at will, finding more coins,
statues and Bonus Shields each time and improving your record.

To Western Wood: you fight wolves and orcs as Edmund and Susan

Allies Enclave: This is a training level basically reminding one of the Last
Battle, as you have to fight Wave upon Wave of enemies. The icons and numbers
of enemies that you need to kill to defeat a particular Wave will be shown at
the top of the screen. You can unlock a new ability by completing this
level. It is for Peter and is:

Boggle Bane 50 Boggle Bane allows Boggles to be defeated with one hit. A
weapon is required to use this ability.

Boggle Bane: XA

Frozen Lake: Use Lucy to tame the creatures designated by the icon in the
Attack waves in the numbers given. The number of enemies that are killed by
the other player are irrelevant here. Lucy must tame a certain number of
designated creatures in each Wave to complete the level.

The Great River: Susan and Lucy are the only children in this level. Again,
it is a level based on defeating waves of attackers.

XXI. Creatures of Evil

Creatures of Evil:

Jadis, the White Witch, is the self-appointed Queen of Narnia who has held
control over the land for 100 years. She decreed that it should be always
Winter but never Christmas in Narnia. One of the tasks of the Pevensie
children is to make it possible for Father Christmas to return to Narnia,
breaking the iron grip of eternal winter.

Otmin: General Otmin is a huge Minotaur. You must fight him at the end of
the Battle of Beruna.

Ginarbrikk: is a black dwarf who drives the White Witch's sleigh; dwarves
either are red or black and the red dwarves are loyal mainly to Aslan while
the black dwarves serve Jadis. You will fight Ginarbrikk in the 'Rescue
Edmond' level.

Maugrim is a wolf, captain of the White Witch's secret police. You have to
fight him in the 'Great River' level.

Boggles are hideous white mole-like creatures with snouts who live underground
and serve the White Witch. You fight many Boggles in the course of this
game. Lucy can tame Boggles to ride them if you purchase that upgrade. (It
is highly recommended that you do so.)

Ogres: Ogres are huge, rather simple-minded brutal creatures who serve the
White Witch. You have to alternately hide from and fight some ogres in the
game.

Minoboar: The Minoboar is a formidable warrior with the head and tusks of a
wild boar. They are an essential element in the White Witch's army and you
must fight many of them during the battles.

Cyclops: There are a number of one-eyed Cyclops giants who serve the White
Witch and whom you must defeat.

Ghouls: Ghouls are pale orcs carrying spears. You fight ghouls in many
levels in this game. Lucy can tame Ghouls to ride them if you purchase that
upgrade. (It is highly recommended that you do this.)

Wolves: Apart from Maugrim, Captain of the Secret Police, there are many
wolves that you must battle in the course of the game. Lucy can tame wolves
to ride them if you purchase the upgrade that allows her to do so. (Highly
recommended.)

Other creatures include: Incubi, Wraiths, Efreets, Hags, Orknies, Wooses,
Ettins and Sprites

XXII. Unlocked Items

By collecting Bonus Shields throughout the game, you can unlock a series of
short films involving the making of the 'Chronicles of Narnia' as well as
interviews with the actors playing the Pevensie children. You unlock a number
of Bonus Levels that you can play, including:
To Western Wood
Allies Enclave
Frozen Lake
The Great River

These levels are not the same as the actual levels in the game that bear the
same name. In every case, they involve combat and waves of attacks. By
completing every wave, you complete the level.

Levels can be played again and again to increase the number of Bonus Shields
as well as coins if you have not purchased all upgrades or unlocked all Bonus
Items in the Bonus Content drawer at the bottom of the Wardrobe.

XXIII. Controls for PS2 and GameCube

This guide was written for the GameCube platform, but can be used for PS2 as
well. This section gives the correspondence between the two controls.

The controls are as follows:

Main control:
GameCube: A button
PS2: X button

L and R will be the same for both platforms, although I would imagine that PS2
will use L1 and R1

The directions of North, South, East and West will be used to explain the
correspondences between the controls for the two game platforms:

North:
GameCube: Y button
PS2: Triangle

East:
GameCube: X
PS2: Circle

South:
GameCube: A *
PS2: Cross or X

West:
GameCube: B
PS2: Square

* The A button on the GameCube control actually is in the centre, rather than
the 'South' but in terms of compass directions, its position corresponds
with 'South' here.

XXIV. Co-op Mode

Co-op Mode gives another player the opportunity either to play the game from
beginning to end, to enjoy it briefly at any point or to help another player
with a difficult level. Unlike 'multi-player' which is a mode of playing a
game that requires more than one player to play the game from start to finish,
co-op mode here is very casual and allows another player almost infinite
choice.

Any other player can 'join' the game at ANY point and leave the game at any
point by 'dropping out'. To join the game, the 2nd player simply
presses 'Start'. To leave the game, the 2nd player simply chooses the 'Drop
Out' option. Gameplay is not affected by this and continues smoothly. There
is no need to restart a level and the level is saved in the same way whether
or not a 2nd player has been involved at any point in the game.

Co-op mode not only is a great deal of fun but it is particularly suited to a
parent, family member or friend who wishes to help a younger or less
experienced player through a difficult challenge. All you need is a second
controller. You can join the game for ten minutes or two hours. Plug in the
controller and press 'Start'. That is all there is to it.

XXV. Cheat Codes

If you feel compelled to take shortcuts in this game, there are cheat codes
that can be activated to allow you to do so.

Cheat codes are activated in the following fashion:

Step I: Enter the following code at the title screen while the 'Please Press
Start to Begin' prompt is displayed:

Press A, then while holding down the L and R buttons, press: Down, Down,
Right, Up using the direction pad.

If the Code has been entered correctly, the 'Please Press Start to Begin'
prompt will turn green.
Step II: Enter the following codes when you have begun any level to activate
the cheats:
Invincibility: While holding down the L button, use the direction pad to
press: Down, Up, Down, Right, Right
Restore Health to all Children: While holding down the L button, use the
direction pad to press: Down, Left, Left, Right
To add 10,000 Coins: While holding down the L button, use the direction pad to
press: Down, Left, Right, Down, Down
To Complete Current Level: While holding down the L button, use the direction
pad to press: Down, Left, Down, Left, Down, Right, Down, Right, Up
To Unlock all Levels: While holding down the L button, use the direction pad
to press: Up, Up, Right, Right, Up, Right, Down
If the Code has been entered correctly, a 'Cheat Activated' prompt will flash
on the screen. To deactivate any cheat, simply reenter the appropriate Code.

XXVI. PC Version and Chequepoint problem with Jadis

If you are playing the PC version of the game, and you find that the White
Witch has retreated to her 'safe place' and you are unable to do ANYTHING, it
is because there is a problem with the game itself, and BuenaVista is working
on it. Here is their information:

The requirement for the game is actually 1.4 Ghz. Now since the issue is also
happening with processorts between 1.4 - 1.7 Ghz, you might be able to use the
informatin below to help you get pass the section. If the information below
does not help you defeat Jadis, you will have ot wait until BuenaVista
releases an update to correct the issue. Here is the information:

It appears that the issue has to do with CPUs ranging in speed from 1.4 to 1.7
GHz. If there is a lot of video lag on screen during the final battle, the
harpies will begin to collide during the chop and push each other back out of
the battle area. You can still see them circling at the back right on our
tests. If they do not come out and start to drop rocks after the battle, the
Chequepoint will NOT activate. We have forced them out by moving back and
forth across the bottom of the screen and cycling characters. Cycling between
the children appears to help more than moving back and forth. Eventually they
will come out and begin to drop rocks.

It appears that the game has Queued up a certain number of rock drops
depending upon the length of the fight. Once they begin to drop rocks, the
queue should clear and the Chequepoint should activate. After cycling between
one child and another, the harpies began to drop rocks again. About two
minutes later, the Chequepoint activated.

The BuenaVista Development team has been made aware of this problem and will
be creating a patch to optimise the frames per second in the level. I will
add the information to this guide when it is available.
